Surfin' Safari

used a completely different approach for this one. i usually get really picky on the prelim drawing but this time i just did a really quick gesture sketch and went with that as a base... and i like how it came out! maybe that's the way to go ;)

Cocoon

I’ve been missing going to figure drawing sessions lately. Not much available around here these days, especially in the summer. This was done from a photo reference courtesy of Danika Milles on deviantArt

Basket Of Candy

Yes I know... haven't posted for a while. Truth is I haven't done much artwork lately. This was a 'quicky' project I did on the weekend.

Down By The Old Mill Stream

Another project in oil. I really enjoy how the paint goes on, but it sure tries my patience waiting for it to dry…lol! Quite happy with this though… much better than i was expecting.

Zen Harvest

When I saw this reference, I had to paint it! It just naturally fit the 2 X 1 crop I love working with, on top of all those wonderful textures!

Cricket Players

Think I found a new favorite toy! more from those brush pens. this one was a good exercise in simplifying the subject matter. I did a really quick gesture sketch, then transferred those energetic lines to the w/c paper then inked and added color. Definitely different for me, but something I'd like to explore some more!
